Kalibo, Philippines, August 20, 2025 – Aklan State University (ASU), Philippines, hosted The 8th International Conference on Education for All (ICEDUALL) with the theme “Harnessing DL for Personalized & Adaptive Education.” The conference was organized by the Association of Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah Teacher Training and Education Faculties (Asosiasi LPTK PTMA) in collaboration with Aklan State University, and supported by Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), Indonesia.

The hybrid-format conference brought together approximately 100 participants from 25 Muhammadiyah-‘Aisyiyah universities in Indonesia and one university from the Philippines. The presence of scholars and researchers from various countries reflects a shared commitment to advancing inclusive and equitable education for all.

In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum., Chair of the PTMA Association, conveyed his sincere appreciation to all participants and international partners.

“It is truly an honor to welcome you all to the 8th International Conference on Education for All (ICEDUALL). This event is organized by the Association of Education Faculties of Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Universities, in collaboration with Aklan State University, Philippines, and with the support of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), Indonesia,” he stated.

He also highlighted the achievements of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) as the top-ranked private university in Indonesia. With more than 3,000 Scopus-indexed documents, a QS World University Ranking at approximately 1,400, and a student body exceeding 40,000, UMS continues to strengthen its position as a global center for education, research, and innovation.

“This conference serves as a gateway to strengthening academic and research partnerships between Aklan State University and UMS, particularly in research, publications, student and faculty exchanges, and joint academic programs,” he added.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, President of Aklan State University, expressed his optimism about the collaboration between UMS and ASU, emphasizing its potential to enhance the quality of education in both institutions.

“Collaboration between UMS and Aklan State University will improve education quality of both universities. We can collaborate in student exchange, research, and community service,” he affirmed.

ICEDUALL 8 also featured two distinguished international speakers who offered fresh perspectives on education in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Dr. Arvin Kim Arnilla of Aklan State University underscored the importance of inclusiveness in education. According to him, educational systems must be capable of adapting to the AI era to ensure that all learners, without exception, have access to relevant and meaningful learning opportunities.

“Inclusiveness in education can adapt with the AI era,” he explained, stressing that technology should not replace teachers but rather expand access, accommodate diverse learner needs, and ensure that no one is left behind in the learning process.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Anam Sutopo of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta delivered a presentation on “Harnessing Deep Learning for Personalized and Adaptive Education in the AI Era.” He explained how deep learning technologies can be applied to create more personalized and adaptive learning models. Artificial intelligence, he noted, can identify students’ learning patterns, map their strengths and weaknesses, and provide faster and more accurate feedback. Consequently, AI has the potential to accelerate the realization of truly student-centered education.

Together, the two presentations emphasized that integrating inclusivity with artificial intelligence technologies is essential in shaping future education systems.

In his closing message, Prof. Harun Joko Prayitno expressed his sincere appreciation to the organizing committees, distinguished speakers, and all participants who had dedicated their time, effort, and expertise to ensure the success of the 8th International Conference on Education for All (ICEDUALL). He emphasized that the collective contributions of various stakeholders, both from Indonesia and the Philippines, had created a vibrant academic forum that fostered meaningful dialogue, strengthened international collaboration, and advanced the shared vision of inclusive and adaptive education.

“Please enjoy the conference, and I hope you will experience fruitful discussions, exchange valuable insights, and build sustainable networks that will contribute to the future of education. May this event not only be an academic milestone but also a truly memorable experience for all of us,” he commented.

The 8th ICEDUALL Conference not only served as an academic platform but also as a bridge to strengthen sustainable international collaboration between Indonesia and the Philippines in advancing global education.
